The second season anime of the Oshi no Ko will premiere on July 3 2024 at 11.00 pm Japan time on Tokyo MX and more than 29 other channels throughout Japan.
That means in just under a month, Oshi no Ko returns for a second season. Through the X platform, they have just released a trailer along with a new key visual for the anime season 2.
Reporting from Anime News Network , excerpted from Japanese Station, Oshi no Ko season 2 will focus on a 2.5D stage drama entitled Tokyo Blade. Story-wise, this drama is an adaptation of a manga.
In the drama, Kana Arima (voiced by Megumi Han) will play Tsurugi, Akane Kurokawa (voiced by Manaka Iwami) will play Sayahime, Aqua Hoshino (voiced by Takeo Ōtsuka) will play Touki, and Melt Narushima (voiced by Seiji Maeda) will play Kizami.
New cast members for the second season include Kōki Uchiyama as Taiki Himekawa (Blade in ‘Tokyo Blade’) and Yūsuke Kobayashi as Sakuya Kamoshida (Monme in ‘Tokyo Blade’).
Oshi No Ko is a manga written by Akasaka Aka ( Kaguya-sama: Love is War ) and illustrated by Yukari Mengo (Kuzu no Honkai ). This manga was published in April 2020 by Shuueisha in the weekly Young Jump magazine.
The first season of the anime adaptation aired in April 2023, with the first episode lasting 90 minutes. The series is directed by Daisuke Himekawa and produced by animation studio Doga Kobo.
The opening song of this anime was sung by YOASOBI with the title ‘IDOL,’ while the ending song was sung by Queen Bee with the title ‘Mephisto’.
This story focuses on an obstetrician named Goro Amemiya who treats a pregnant patient named Ai Hoshino, a famous idol and Goro’s personal idol.
On the day Ai was born, Goro was attacked and killed by a mysterious person. After his death, Goro was reincarnated as Aquamarine Hoshino, one of the twins born to Ai.
Aqua grows up with her mother, who is also her favorite idol, while investigating the identity of the mysterious figure who killed her in her previous life.
In the trailer, we can hear a snippet of the opening song performed by music artist GEMN with the title ‘Fatale’. More details about this artist will be announced by the staff in the future.
