The creator of manga the Hunter x Hunter , Yoshihiro Togashi , indicated that he would continue the manga which stopped releasing in chapter 400 towards the end of 2022.
Before experiencing the series’ longest hiatus, the creators of Hunter x Hunter appear to be back working on the manga.
Reported by Comic Book, taken from the Japanese Station page, Monday, May 13 2024, this update launched ten new chapters in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine towards the end of that year, and since then fans have been waiting patiently for the creator, Yoshihiro Togashi, to continued his work on the series amidst his health problems.
Although there is no clear indication when the series will return, a tweet on Togashi’s official social media account provides some hope for fans.
The creator shared an update on the manga’s creation process over the past few days. A similar situation also occurred several years ago, and continued on the series’ return shortly after.
This means fans are excited to see all these new pages in the early stages of being put together.
Unfortunately, Hunter x Hunter has not officially announced when the series will return. When the series went on hiatus in 2022, Shueisha’s editorial department shared a message saying:
“Thank you for reading Hunter x Hunter. Regarding the publication of the manga, Chapter 401, and beyond, we have had discussions with Togashi about his health condition, and as a result, we have decided to publish Hunter x Hunter in a format other than weekly serialization.”
The statement then continued with Shueisha noting that they are determined to support the creator through the hiatus and beyond, “Togashi-Sensei will continue writing future chapters, and the editorial department will continue to support him until the completion of the manga. Specific publication dates and methods will be announced in future issues of Weekly Shonen Jump. Thank you for your continued support of Hunter x Hunter.”
Togashi himself has expressed concerns about never being able to finish the series, and has released how Hunter x Hunter could end if he himself is unable to do so.
However, with ongoing developments in the new release, fans can maintain optimism regarding the manga’s potential return in the foreseeable future.
